StoryBoost is my personal blog. I'm Nadia, writing from Singapore, and this page explains — in plain language — what happens to any personal data you share here, especially through the contact form, and how cookies work on this site under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
Who handles your data
I am responsible for personal data collected through storyboost.life. Contact me at [email protected], +65 6228 4246, or Blk 15 Haig Road, #03-12, Singapore 430015.
Contact form data
When you use Say hello, I collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Subject and message content
- Confirmation that you agreed to data use (consent checkbox)
- Timestamp in Singapore time when the form is submitted
I use this only to read and reply. I don't add you to newsletters, sell your details, or pass them to marketers. Messages live in my email until I delete them.
Consent
The contact form requires you to tick a consent box before sending. It is never pre-ticked. Without consent, the form won't submit. You may withdraw consent anytime by asking me to delete your message and contact details.
Retention
I keep contact messages as long as needed to respond and for reasonable follow-up — usually up to twelve months unless we continue a correspondence you want kept. Ask me to delete earlier and I will.
Cookies
StoryBoost uses:
- Essential cookies — store your cookie banner choice for six months.
- Optional analytics cookies — if you accept, basic analytics may show which stories are read and whether pages load correctly. No advertising profiles are built from this personal blog.
The banner offers Accept all, Reject all, or Customise. Change your mind by clearing browser cookies or emailing me.
Hosting logs
My host may log technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. I don't use these logs to personally identify casual readers.
Your PDPA rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data I hold about you, or withdraw consent for future use. Email [email protected] and I will respond within a reasonable period. If unsatisfied, contact the Personal Data Protection Commission at pdpc.gov.sg.
External links
Links to other websites (such as the PDPC) have their own privacy practices. Please review them separately.
Children
This site is not directed at children under thirteen. I do not knowingly collect children's data through the contact form.
Third parties
I do not sell or rent personal data. The only third party involved in the contact form is my email/hosting provider, which processes messages so they reach my inbox. They act as a processor under their own terms. I do not use advertising networks on this personal blog.
International transfers
My hosting may store data on servers outside Singapore. Where that happens, I rely on providers with appropriate safeguards and only share what is necessary to operate a simple contact form and website.
Security
No online transmission is perfectly secure. I take reasonable steps to protect messages — HTTPS on the site, a simple form without unnecessary fields — but please avoid sending sensitive information (NRIC numbers, bank details, medical records) through the contact form. Email is not the right channel for that.
Questions
If anything in this note is unclear, email me and I will explain in plain language. This is a one-person blog and I would rather answer a question properly than leave you guessing about your data. I aim to reply within two weeks, usually sooner, and at no charge.
Updates
If practices change, I'll update this page and the date above.
Personal blog disclaimer
StoryBoost is my personal notebook online. What you read here comes from my own walks, conversations and recollections — they're stories, not facts, and they're never meant as medical, legal, financial or professional guidance. I write anonymously about neighbours and strangers to protect their privacy; if something reads wrong, please tell me and I'll put it right.
